![]() ![]() I'd go with the KW SC over the Bilstein's any day. My previous vehicle had KW Street Comfort coilovers - nearly perfect balance between comfort and improved suspension behavior. KW Street Comfort coilovers would be my personal choice if I had to choose between KW and Bilstein coilovers. How important is it for you to maintain comfortable ride with the bar being set by the stock suspension that you are used to? Any opinions on this set up? Am I being a space cadet with this dream of +/- 1" or whatever between seasons? Would these be much of a change in comfort or handling to the stock set up? I live in Maine and would prefer the stock ride height during the winter, but dropping it an inch in the Summer would looks great. Luckily for me, roughly 3 weeks before the wheels arrive, my front struts are failing.Īnyways, I'm tempted by The Bilstein P14 PSS. A well matched set of sway bars significantly reduces body roll on curves so the car corners flat! I really enjoy driving my car with upgraded suspension and upgraded sway bars. Other BMW models have smaller rear bars.) (For comparison my '15 335ix came with a stock 12mm rear bar. ![]() Other options are the BMW 15mm rear bar or the KC Design 17mm rear bar. The rear H&R 20mm sway bar can be a little too strong and effect the rear tire contact. FaRKle! has written about this so search on his posts and check out his YouTube channel.įor your KW Comfort setup I'd consider a front H&R 28mm sway bar. There are many examples of hollow bars suddenly snapping.Ĭhoosing sway bars is mostly dependent on the front and rear spring rates. It's not done very much on the F3x simply because the sway bars are buried so the labor is expensive to remove everything in the way to get to them. I'm a big proponent of upgrading sway bars. (Note: Bilstein does a terrible job of this especially with the B16's that use front springs that are way too stiff.) ![]() KW is high quality and they do an excellent job of matching up spring rates with the correct dampers. I do have the front strut brace which does help, but not enough. I think the xDrive weight is a lot to deal with so I may end up swapping out my sway bars in the future. Height is currently set to the highest they will go which ultimately dropped the car about an inch all around. Comfort is stiffer than before and I almost miss the cushy feel it used to offer, but sport is a ton better and worth the loss of comfort cushion. Felt a little to cushy for me in sport mode. Initial setting was in the middle for almost a month while I drove on Texas roads. '17 440i xDrive on KW street comforts with EDC. I picked up the St that inverts both front and rear as well as adds external reservoirs in the rear (Clubsport feature on Bilstein and KW). Their Black Friday sale that just passed was 30% off so it was a major deal. These however are on the side of PSS10s, Ohlins and V3 with the inverted rear. With any of these you are paying for the support and ease of rebuilding. Similar to BC, Fortune Auto and the like with a lot of modularity and adjustability. Made to order so it will be a few weeks until receipt, and then a few until I install them maybe.įor the price you get a lot. And the most recent user to install is FastF30 There's a thread here where someone reviews it. I searched the thread and did not find any mention of "Flatout Suspension" does anyone have any experience with these? It seems the company is only 3-4 years old but they're website/info seems pretty legit. ![]()
